How We Met

Samantha and Adrian met while working at the Verizon truck during the New York State Fair in August 2011. While working together during the fair, Adrian’s general manager, Pat, had noticed a chemistry between the two.

Samantha had worked with Pat previously and had asked him for Adrian’s phone number because they were working together in assisting a business customer. Pat broke Adrian’s rule of handing out his personal number, instead of his work number, due to the chemistry he witnessed.

Even though Samantha rebuffed Adrian’s offer of fried dough initially, the two hit it off after the Fair and nine years later, it helped lead to this day!

Our Proposal

In January 2019, Adrian and Samantha traveled to Disney World for the kick-off of the runDisney Marathon series. They participated in the 5k and 10k during the week. After the races, they found themselves visiting the Magic Kingdom. Already exhausted from the two races, Samantha wanted to leave early and come watch the fireworks another night.

Adrian did his best to convince Samantha to stay for the fireworks as that was the night that everyone was expecting Adrian to propose (Samantha’s parents and friends were waiting by phone!)

During the fireworks, Samantha was snapping pictures and recording the show. Adrian was extremely nervous and finally, about halfway through the show, Adrian snatched her phone away, turned her towards him, and asked if she would join him on their next Great Adventure as husband and wife. Samantha was overcome with emotion and said yes!
